Subject: The U.S. Edition of '60 Reasons' (was: 60-reasons)

Steve,

I've given lengthy consideration to this and this would be my working
proposal regarding the content of '60 Reasons', over which I hold copyright
as you know.

I've taken on board all points you've raised including all that you say
about getting it ready for the U.S. market, indexing, updating etc.

1. The copyright will be formally i.e. in writing released to you, or shall
we say waived, subject to the folllowing:

2. If the content is substantially the same as '60 Reasons', the title be
retained but with a sub-heading to make it clear that this is an American
edition or version and with a new author i.e. not m name to appear as the
author.

Here is a suggestion: 'The U.S. edition, by Brian Johnson'.

3. There is prominently displayed in the frontispiece or inside front cover
or introduction to your book a statement as to the source of the material, I
would be happy with something along these lines but would like to see any
proposed wording of yours as an alternative if you want to change it:

This book is based on original work by Tony Bennett from England who
compiled the U.K. edition of '60 Reasons', a work that was also translated
into Spanish, German and Dutch. We are pleased, with his permission, to
bring you the U.S. version of this book which we have revised and updated.

You will no doubt want to include a copyright statement.

I would suggest:

The following assert their right to be known as the authors of this work and
their copyright as per the Berne conventnion: Tony Bennett, Brian Johnson.

You would need to add addresses where both can be contacted, mine of course
being: 66 Chippingfield, HARLOW, Essex CM17 0DJ.

4. A copyright/royalty payment of $1.00 per booklet sold, so long as the
cover price is $5 or less; if more than $5 then at the rate of 20%, I
suggest that payments are amde sday monthly at the end of the month and we
can discuss how they are paid, maybe via PayPal.

I think under all the circumstances payment may have to be made to me rather
than The Madeleine Foundation but that's a detail we can leave.

+++++++++++++

I hope that can form the basis of a working agreement and await hearing from
you.

Tony

Tony Bennett, secretary to the Madeleine Foundation stated "...we will decline to comment on this occasion. I have listened to the entire interview. We don't know what's in the book. We've had no involvement in its production. We'll wait and see how others react to its contents."

In addition to the past activities of Steve mentioned above, I have been reminded that he was also responsible for accusing the Madeleine Foundation of fraud and also using the Foundation's website to further attack freelance photographer Mike Gunnill. All done without the permission of the Madeleine Foundation.

Debbie can I ask you a question?

Here's the email he wrote to Stevo, in which he's asking for a copyright/royalty payment, a payment to HIM rather than to the MF.

Did TB in any meeting, conversation or correspondence ever ask for a small payment for royalties or copyright, for articles, books or leaflets written on behalf of the foundation (in acknowledgment for his work/contribution)?

Absolutely not - the email has been miscontrued by some as they think it is only referring to American sales and it was NOT . He is trying to make a quick buck behind MF back - he always said he never made a penny from that book - LIAR  - SUE ME BENTETT

Sorry Debbie, I'm not sure if I understand you properly.

Are you telling me he's indeed made more deals with people selling them the copyrights of the books/leaflets/articles he wrote on behalf of the MF? Or asking them to pay royalties? (not talking about selling the books etc. itself).

And cashed their payments on his private account?

Thanks Debbie. So he hasn't mentioned selling copyrights on meetings then.
Which isn't that strange if he wanted to make underhand deals.

He didn't sent you a copy of that email to Stevo, did he? It was Stevo who's sent it to you I presume.

THIS WAS LEFT LAST NIGHT BY A ANONYMOUS POSTER ( i do know who it was, and they have no interest at all with the McCann case, Carter Ruck or forum wars)

I post it in full here

So please to have found someone pointing out what Anthony Bennett really is. This man has believed for a long time, that he is someone special. He has stated before that he has had a tape recording and evidence of Police cover ups in the Essex Boys Drug case. That is a load of rubbish. Bennett was ordered by a court to release the evidence he had, he replied that he did not have any evidence of it. It was therefore pointed out that Anthony Bennett was a fantasist and a liar.
He seemed to be quiet for a bit then pretended again to have uncovered more evidence. He than claimed to have moved into a Police Safe House in Lincolnshire, which either he lied about or forgot as he allowed details of his whereabouts be known. His ID was not changed as Police found absolutely no evidence to his claims that he had a price on his head and was targeted by Essex gangs. Once again he was challenged to produce evidence but failed to come up with any.
The man is a born fantasist and a born liar. He needs to latch on to something to gvie him a purpose in life.
